Hi there!
If these past weeks you've felt overwhelmed thinking that there were way too many movies coming out, preventing you from chosing with your boyfriend, or your friends which one you would watch, well this note is for you!
Indeed, I totally felt that way lately. So when I heard of the 3 days of "Le Printemps du Cinema" during which the entrance fee at movie theathers would be a mere 3.50 euros instead of the usual 8 euros, I just thought it was the perfect time to check out a couple of those so-to-call blockbusters. As a result, I rushed to the theater, without even having a clue of what I would watch. Here's the result of the movies I tested:
-Brokeback Mountain: a story about gay cow boys (Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger) who first met when they were teens and grew old while maintaining a love relationship during all their lives despite getting married to other women and having kids with them. It was a disturbing movie, yet touching so I did like and I would recommend it well let's say not convincingly but still , I'd MAYBE recommend it.
- Derailed: A movie with stunningly beautiful or beautifully stunning Jenifer Aniston, British Clive Owen and very mean actor Vincent Cassel who btw does an incredible performance. Even though some say that the story gets a bit far fetched by the end, I still believe that it was a good movie. It's about a man and a woman who are about to cheat on their wife and husband when suddenly somebody gets in their hotel room, a mugger and after that incident, the mugger keeps harrassing their victims. So GO WATCH IT!!
-The producers: with Matthew Broderick (Sarah Jessica Parker's husband) and Uma Thurman. Let's put it this way. You don't wanna go and watch that movie unless you know what to expect. A kind of musical where a producer and an ex-accountant tries to do the worst Broadway show ever. Although I did try hard to follow, the only thing I remember is that it was really funny by the beginning but then I left before the end of the movie so...just AVOID IT!
Now that you have my personal opinion on these 3 movies, you can get to have your own. Besides if you've seen any of them and want to discuss about them, I'm here to listen
Sincerely yours,
-Sam
